When clients engage KwikWeb to build a website or solution, we follow a streamlined 3 stage process which ensures that the client is involved and kept up to date throughout the whole project, from planning and design through to launch.
1. Initial Consultation & Requirements Definition
The first step before starting most projects is an obligation free consultation. The purpose of this initial consultation is to discuss the requirements and goals of your project and learn about your business. After the consultation, we will briefly recommend solutions to achieve your goals and provide an official quotation for your consideration. We will be flexible in working with you to achieve as much as possible within your budget.
To understand your business and your requirements, KwikWeb consultants will seek useful information including:
- Objectives for your business and website/project
- ‘Look-and-feel’ of your proposed website
- Target markets/niches
- Search engine strategy
- Desired features and special functionality
- Your products and services
- Your industry and competitors
- Domain name, email, web hosting and eCommerce requirements.
Consultations are relaxed and flexible, conducted at your own pace and can take place anywhere for your convenience, including:
- Over the phone and email discussions
- At our Sydney CBD head office
- At your business premises
- Over a nice cup of coffee!
2. Concept and Solutions Design
Design is the creative process of transforming your ideas and requirements into website layouts, creative graphics and animation, and solutions. Your consultant and a designer work collaboratively to draft concepts that achieve both aesthetics and functionality.
If you have opted for a search engine optimisation program or have indicated that you may take one up in future, we will help you identify important keywords and keyphrases early on so that, if necessary, they can be incorporated into the draft concepts.
We then walk you through the proposed concepts which demonstrate how your new website will look and function. This gives you a good opportunity to provide feedback which we incorporate into the first revision.
After the first revision, we have several other review sessions with you where we finalise the design, making final changes if necessary, and obtain your sign-off to proceed with development.
Early on in this process, you will be advised of things you will need to provide such as website content, photos, your business logo and various logins and passwords.
3. Development and Testing
Development is largely a coding process were the approved design is transformed into a working prototype by our developers. The developers will also build any additional functionality and special features that you require. Custom graphic design and copywriting of your website content also take place during this phase if you have requested these services.
If you have opted for a search engine optimisation program to be integrated with the launch of a website, then your important keywords and keyphrases will be built into the site during this phase so that you get a head start on search engine results.
You will be given several opportunities to review the working prototype online on our test servers as it is being developed and provide feedback before we obtain your final sign-off and consent to launch your new solution. All websites and solutions are thoroughly tested to be 100% working before we launch them.
For brand new websites, by this stage your desired domain names will have been secured and your web hosting will be ready to host the website. Business emails at your domain name can also be created and configured.
At the completion of this 3 stage process, your new solution will be ready to go live!
Launch / Go-Live
At your desired time, the new solution or website is launched at your very own web address. You will be provided with various logins and passwords for administrative, performance tracking and maintenance purposes. A 30 day warranty period is provided for your peace of mind, where any defects will be fixed free of charge.
New website addresses will be submitted to Google and Yahoo for expedited search engine listings which generally appear within a week. Ecommerce stores will be able to start trading immediately.
From here, we continue to support your website through customer building initiatives such as search engine optimisation and online marketing.
